Arts Management applies business techniques and processes to the creative world of visual & performing arts, media, culture & entertainment and is concerned with its development.
Characteristics
The two words are often opposing in nature where “Arts” is a means of expression and creativity whereas “Management” is concerned with the practical aspects of running a business. It is the Arts Manager’s job to marry the two worlds.
Workplace
An Arts Manager typically works in/with galleries, film, television, recording industry, ad agencies, museums, orchestras, arts councils, export offices, theatres, media houses, government etc…
…with titles like CEO, Executive Director, Director or General Manager.
Responsibilities
